Leah Coury
Founder & Head of Development
Pairing a unique brand-first mindset with her proven track records in P&L management, team leadership and strategic growth, Leah created Opening Day in 2025 to return to the field, inspired by the opportunity to collaborate with and support modern brands reshaping the future of retail.
Positioning herself as more than a brand partner, Leah operates alongside her clients as an “extension of the brand,” offering step-by-step concierge along all phases of retail development, delivering her operational expertise and deep market knowledge with a high-value brand mindset and characteristically laid back, grounded nature (especially under pressure).
Background
Leah brings over a decade of experience leading real estate, operations and development strategies for high-growth brands & businesses across multiple retail categories, including apparel, home goods, health & wellness, and more.
Most recently, Leah served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations & Development at Modern Age, a modern healthcare concept focused on proactively aging well, where she successfully launched the startup’s retail business in New York, optimizing operational efficiency and customer experience. While there, she designed and implemented strategic processes across real estate, construction, clinical operations and customer experience, growing appointment volume and customer retention while reducing overhead.
During her leadership role at Casper Sleep, Leah led the development of over 70 brick-and-mortar stores. Prior, she managed real estate strategy for major global lifestyle brands, including Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman. Her career began in retail leasing, with key roles at CBRE and The McDevitt Company, where she managed major real estate transactions and leasing projects for additional household names such as Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie.
Background
During his seven-plus years at Tesla, Jamie spearheaded the deployment of technology infrastructure to over 350 locations across 45 countries in North America, EMEA, and APAC, including retail stores, offices, service centers, and factories. At Casper, he led the Retail IT Infrastructure group, ensuring seamless technology operations for more than 60 retail locations across the U.S. and Canada.​

​Today, Jamie serves as the leader of the CRM Professional Services and Technology Teams at Tekion, along with driving innovation as the General Manager of the company’s FinTech platform. From payments and spend management to treasury solutions, Jamie is reshaping how businesses manage their financial operations.
Holding a BS in Management Information Systems and an MBA, both from Santa Clara University, Jamie combines strategic vision with technical expertise to scale systems, lead high-performing teams, and deliver transformative solutions. His leadership is rooted in a passion for innovation and a commitment to driving measurable business impact.
